Linguistic Knowledge Graph “Turklang” for Creation of Tools for Teaching Turkic Languages

Ayrat Rafizovich Gatiatullin, Nikolai Arkadievich Prokopyev
251-265
Abstract:

This article presents elements of the linguistic knowledge graph “Turklang”, developed at the Institute of Applied Semiotics of the Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan and used as a basis for creating a number of linguistic resources and tools: the portal “Turkic Morpheme”, the electronic corpus of the Tatar language “Tugan Tel”, morphoanalyzer. Creating an educational environment requires subject-oriented knowledge graphs, for which methods of general and open graphs are not suitable. This paper describes linguistic knowledge graphs, which reflect, on the one hand, potential capabilities of Turkic languages, and on the other hand, examples of actual use in texts. Peculiarity of these knowledge graphs is that they contain linguistic units of different linguistic levels, and concepts corresponding to meanings of these linguistic units, which are built into the thesaurus of concepts. Structure of this knowledge graph allows to formulate the content of a training course, build an individual educational trajectory, as well as create tests and tools of automated answer grading as part of knowledge control when teaching Turkic languages. This makes it possible to subsequently develop, based on these graphs, training programs taking into account the structural and functional features of the Turkic languages, and also contributes to the implementation of individual goals of students.

Abstract:

We investigated the current models of the publication and dissemination of scientific knowledge. We describe the modern information management system of scientific publications and services that determine their functionality.

We discuss the concept of the digital infrastructure of the electronic scientific journal. Under this infrastructure, we understand the complex that combines management software platform of electronic journal and a number of specialized information systems. The software platform realizes the basic operating log management processes. Information systems provide the operation of additional services, taking into account the specifics of the journal subject area.

We present an approach to the organization of the digital infrastructure of the scientific journal based on an open platform Open Journal Systems (OJS). We provide software services that extend the functionality of this platform and considering specificity of the subject area of scientific journals. We have created software modules for automating of electronic scientific journal workflow. These modules are an extension of OJS.

We present a system of services for the automated processing of collections of scientific documents. These services provide verification of document compliance to the accepted rules of formation of collections and their conversion to the established formats; structural analysis of documents and extraction of metadata, as well as their integration into the scientific information space. The system allows to automatically performing a set of operations that cannot be realized for acceptable time with the traditional manual processing of electronic content. It is designed for the large collections of scientific documents.

Algorithms style validation of texts at the article registration stage in the information system of electronic scientific journal, the selection of reviewers, alert and control the timing of reviewing were automated. Information gathering algorithm with dedicated news lines of scientific journals, further analysis and distribution of news by categories and degrees of importance were developed. The algorithm automatically extract bibliographic data from a homogeneous array of publications (in particular, the issues of the scientific journal) and the formation of metadata blocks for export to international information and analytical system were created. Methods integration of OJS platform and international databases of science citation were developed.

We present methods of processing documents containing mathematical formulas: in the collections of documents that contain mathematical formulas, algorithm for the search formulas is developed; basic ideas, approaches and results already obtained by the mathematical knowledge management based on ontology are presented; a method of constructing recommender systems based on mathematical knowledge ontologies described. The method of primary processing automated of scientific article using TеX-notation developed.

The new direction of researches of scientific communications in the environment of Web 2.0 – altmetrics – is considered. We have analyzed the content of the notion «altmetrics», we conducted a comparison of traditional (bibliometric and scientometric) and alternative indicators. We describe the use of world experience informetric services on scientific journals sites. We discussed options for implementing these approaches to create an electronic scientific journal management platform.

Abstract:

The modern information space contains a lot of data, but they are often poorly structured, difficult to find and not always correct. This creates additional difficulties during researches, so digital spaces of scientific knowledge are currently being formed, in particular, based on knowledge graphs.

To ensure the quality of information, such graphs are often filled with data manually, which is time-consuming. Therefore, the creation of a tool that provides the ability to automate process of filling a graph with data, as well as ensures data quality, will simplify and speed up the process of forming digital spaces of scientific knowledge.

Methods for automating the filling of the graph with data are proposed, including parallel control of their integrity. Based on the proposed methods, a software module has been developed, the mechanisms of its functioning and its architecture are described.

Keywords: digital space of scientific knowledge, formation of digital spaces of scientific knowledge, knowledge graphs, automation of knowledge graph construction.

Abstract:

The article presents an innovative methodology for applying Semantic Web technologies to support fundamental geological research. The problem of semantic integration of heterogeneous geological data, characterized by different scales and interdisciplinarity, is considered. A five-stage methodology is developed, including domain analysis, ontological conceptual modeling, data transformation into a knowledge graph, deployment of a distributed data access infrastructure based on the conceptual model, and integration with processing and analysis procedures. Practical testing was conducted on three case studies: analysis of geochemical data for assessing territory pollution levels, creation of an information system about faults, and research on reservoir shoreline dynamics. The proposed ontological approach ensures compliance with FAIR principles and overcoming the "semantic barrier" in geological research. It is shown that Semantic Web technologies enable a transition from fragmented information arrays to a holistic semantic space of geological knowledge, opening new opportunities for generating comprehensive scientific hypotheses and cross-disciplinary research.

Keywords: Semantic Web, knowledge graphs, ontological modeling, semantic environment of scientific knowledge, fundamental geological research.

Formation of Structured Representations of Scientific Journals for Integration into a Knowledge Graph and Semantic Search

Olga Muratovna Ataeva, Mikhail Gennadievich Kobuk
1306-1323
Abstract:

This paper examines the development of the SciLibRu library of scientific subject areas, as a continuation of the semantic description of scientific works from the library LibMeta project. This library is based on a conceptual data model, the structure and semantics of which are formed based on the principles of ontological modeling. This approach ensures a strict description of the subject area, formalization of the relationships between entities, and the possibility of further automated data analysis. The goal of the study is to develop and experimentally apply methods for structuring scientific journal data in LaTeX format for their integration into the library ontology and to support semantic search.

An algorithm for translating data represented by multiple files into XML format is proposed for integration into the library ontology. A vector search module based on embedding calculation using language models is implemented. Patterns in the distribution of embeddings and factors influencing the accuracy of search results ranking are identified. Testing of the two components is conducted.

The developed method forms the basis for automatically incorporating scientific journal data into the SciLibRu knowledge graph and creating training corpora for language models limited to scientific subject areas. The obtained results contribute to the development of journal knowledge graph navigation systems, recommendation engines, and intelligent search tools for Russian-language scientific texts.

Keywords: semi-structured data, text structuring, LaTeX, vector representations of text, full-text search, semantic search.

Abstract:

This paper explores the problem of combining methods in the semantic analysis of scientific data and publications during review. At different stages of data processing in the SciLibRu system, various methods are used, a multi-level ontology is constructed, and a knowledge graph is populated, resulting in the formation of a new data structure distinct from the original. Each method individually serves its purpose in such a system, while their combined use leads to the emergence of new properties, which became the subject of this research. An example of an automatic peer review agent with explainable results is provided.

Abstract:

The work is a development of research conducted by the authors in the field of creating a Common Digital Space for Scientific Knowledge (CDSSK). Previous research has proposed a unified structure for representing the ontology of CDSSK elements (subspaces, classes and attributes of objects, relationships between objects or attributes). In the process of modeling the ontology using the example of the universal and a number of thematic subspaces of the CDSSK, the need for some adjustments to the structure of the ontology regarding CDSSK directories was revealed to ensure the possibility of describing nested data attributes. In addition, the concept of “data attribute value dictionary type” was introduced into the ontology; two types of dictionaries were defined – “static” and “dynamic”. This information makes it possible to simplify formal-logical control algorithms when generating CDSSK content. An indication of the dictionary type has been introduced into the structure of object attribute directories. The presented work describes the modified structure of the ontology using the example of 11 auxiliaries and 10 subject classes of the CDSSK universal subspace (USS). Examples of directories of each class, built in accordance with the ontology structure model, a list of object attributes and examples of static dictionaries are given.

Neural Network Architecture of Embodied Intelligence

Ayrat Rafkatovich Nurutdinov
598-655
Abstract:

In recent years, advances in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning have been driven by advances in the development of large language models (LLMs) based on deep neural networks. At the same time, despite its substantial capabilities, LLMs have fundamental limitations such as spontaneous unreliability in facts and judgments; making simple errors that are dissonant with high competence in general; credulity, manifested by a willingness to accept a user's knowingly false claims as true; and lack of knowledge about events that have occurred after training has been completed.

Probably the key reason is that bioinspired intelligence learning occurs through the assimilation of implicit knowledge by an embodied form of intelligence to solve interactive real-world physical problems. Bioinspired studies of the nervous systems of organisms suggest that the cerebellum, which coordinates movement and maintains balance, is a prime candidate for uncovering methods for realizing embodied physical intelligence. Its simple repetitive structure and ability to control complex movements offer hope for the possibility of creating an analog to adaptive neural networks.

This paper explores the bioinspired architecture of the cerebellum as a form of analog computational networks capable of modeling complex real-world physical systems. As a simple example, a realization of embodied AI in the form of a multi-component model of an octopus tentacle is presented, demonstrating the potential in creating adaptive physical systems that learn and interact with the environment.

Abstract:

The problem of effective navigation and search for relevant information within growing volumes of scientific publications necessitates a shift from classical full-text search methods to semantic models. This work proposes an approach to structuring a heterogeneous corpus of scientific texts by constructing a Knowledge Graph (KG). A data processing pipeline is developed that encompasses the extraction of metadata, keywords, and structural elements of articles, followed by their integration into a unified graph. Based on the constructed Knowledge Graph, methods for analyzing explicit connections and extracting implicit connections between publications are implemented. The research results demonstrate the effectiveness of the graph-based representation of scientific information for uncovering hidden patterns within subject domains and supporting intelligent navigation.

Yuri Alekseevich Khalin, Anna Alekseevna Ilina
627-650
Abstract:

In the context of digital transformation of organizations and the growing volume of data, there is a demand for more transparent and explainable approaches to employee evaluation. The purpose of the study is to design and validate an ontological model (OWL 2/SHACL) that integrates employees’ cognitive indicators and sociological characteristics into a unified knowledge space to support HR processes. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the development of a unified semantic model linking data from cognitive tests, questionnaires, work context, and performance indicators; in the formulation of competency questions (CQ) that trigger reasoning mechanisms within the knowledge graph; and in the creation of patterns for predicting competency gaps, identifying the risk of overload/burnout, while ensuring ethics and non-discrimination control. The proposed approach is based on ontology engineering methodologies – METHONTOLOGY and NeOn, semantic web concepts, and psychometric methods.

Keywords: ontology, OWL 2, SHACL, competency questions (CQ), HR evaluation, competencies, cognitive tests, sociological surveys, reasoning, SPARQL, KPI/OKR, fairness, burnout.

Danil Azatovich Khamatnurov, Aleksey Vitalevich Shubin
328-345
Abstract:

Cooperative mechanics of multiplayer video games are typified. Cooperative game mechanics are the key elements of gameplay design that determine the ways of interaction between players in cooperative gameplay. Existing research in this area is analyzed and the main principles influencing the success of cooperative interaction are identified. Eight types of cooperative mechanics were identified and classified: cooperative, cooperative-emergent, altruistic, socio-economic, complementary, simultaneous control, penalty, and chain mechanics.

The authors concluded that successful cooperative mechanics are built on the principles of complementary roles, the combination of different abilities, and the need to distribute tasks for the sake of achieving a common goal. The proposed classification contributes to the systematization of knowledge in the field of game design and can be useful for developers of multiplayer video games. In the future, the classification can be refined and expanded taking into account the evolution of the industry and the emergence of new forms of cooperation.

Keywords: cooperative mechanics, multiplayer video games, game design, classification.
