Scientific Co-Authorship According to RSCI and Scopus Data for 2000-2020: Growth Trends

Sergey Andreevich Durnev, Ekaterina Aleksandrovna Znamenskaya, Andrey Anatolievich Pechnikov, Dmitry Evgen'evich Chebukov
60-75
Abstract:

Scientific co-authorship is a direct reflection of scientific collaboration. Foreign studies based on Web of Science and Scopus data show that over the past decades there has been an increase in the number of co-authors of scientific publications in international journals in various disciplines. The paper compares the growth trends in the number of co-authors according to the RSCI and Scopus data. The study was conducted in five thematic areas (chemistry, history, mathematics, medicine, and physics) from 2000 to 2020. The article shows the identity of the trends in the growth of the number of co-authors in the cases of publications on history and mathematics, and a noticeable difference in other scientific fields.

Keywords: publication, co-authorship, number of co-authors of the article, RSCI, Scopus.

Method for Expert Search using Scientometric System Data

Alexander Sergeevich Kozitsyn, Sergey Alexandrovich Afonin
870-888
Abstract:

The use of modern methods of thematic analysis for the analytical processing of information is currently used in almost all areas of human activity, including scientometrics. Many scientometric and citation systems, including the world famous WoS, Scopus, Google Shcolar, develop thematic categories for searching and processing information. Most important tasks that can be solved using thematic classification methods are: assessment of the dynamics of the development of thematic areas in the organization, country and in world science; search for articles on a given topic; search and assessment of the authority of experts; search for journal for publication and other relevant tasks. The Lomonosov Moscow State University is currently developing and using the system ISTINA. In this project, algorithms have been created that solve some of the problems listed. Scientific research is underway to create new effective mathematical models and algorithms in this area.

Keywords: thematic search, bibliographic data, expert search, information systems, scientometrics.

Research of the Contexts of the Ecosystem of "Digital Tourism"

Olga Vital'evna Kononova , Dmitry Evgenievich Prokudin, Elena Nikolaevna Tupikina
339-370
Abstract:

Modern information and communication technologies, elements of digitalization are constantly and rapidly developing, which, in turn, has a direct impact on all spheres of human activity. In the light of recent events related to the collapse of the tourism business due to COVID-19, there is a great scientific interest in the service sector, namely in the field of "digital tourism". Digital tourism relies on the widespread adoption of new technologies such as social media and mobile technologies, smart devices and sensors to collect and use massive amounts of data to create new value propositions. In this regard, the authors set a goal – to present a review of the literature on "digital tourism" from the standpoint of scientific and media discourse. The authors present a comprehensive scientific approach, including the sequential implementation of all stages of the review, from the definition of the terminological core of the interdisciplinary direction, the formation of search queries, cascade search, selection and content analysis of materials to the identification and explication of contexts. The sources of information for preparing the review were publications from academic databases: Web of Science, Science-Direct, Scopus, GoogleScholar, eLibrary, Cyberleninka, as well as materials and publications in Russian-language media – Integrum.

The results obtained by the authors will be useful for scientists in identifying promising areas of research in the field of "digital tourism", as well as deepen their knowledge of mechanisms for searching, collecting and analyzing data and integrated and analytical environments.

Keywords: information and communication technology, digital transformations, digital tourism, eTourism, smart tourism.

Technology for Filling Subject Ontologies of the Scientific Knowledge Space

Nikolay Evgenievich Kalenov
101-115
Abstract:

Subject ontology in the context of this article is understood as a set of key concepts related to a certain field of science, with their semantic connections, supplemented by indexes of various classification systems describing this scientific field. Subject ontologies are a necessary component of each subspace that is part of the Unified digital space of scientific knowledge (DSSK). This article presents the results of research related to the construction of subject ontologies based on the created automated system for supporting terminological dictionaries and suggests a methodology for identifying new key terms in a particular field of science. The proposed methodology is based on the use of existing classification systems in conjunction with citation databases, such as Web of Science and Scopus for English–language publications and the Russian citation index for Russian-language publications. The methodology involves dividing the scientific field into a number of sections in accordance with the selected classification system, extracting from the CSB the core of articles related to each section, and from the articles - new author's keywords, which should constitute, in combination with the corresponding sections of classification systems, the basis of the subject ontologies of this scientific field.

Keywords: scientific digital space, subject ontology, citation databases, keywords, thesaurus, classification systems.

University Library Taking Part in the Research Process of the University: the Experience of Systematizing Data on Publication Activity

Natela Kvelidze-Kuznetsova, Svetlana - Morozova, Aleksey Matushenko
923-941
Abstract: For the past seven to eight years the fundamental library of Herzen University has been a key link in the chain of building effective research activities of the university and its implementation in publications. the creation and development by the library of a software module that operates in the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia was a new stage in this activity; this module allows real-time output of structured current and comparative data on scientometric indicators of university teachers and researchers. The program module was created on the basis of database interaction with the API of scientometric resources such as Russian Science Citation Index, Scopus and Web of Science with the goal of further processing and systematization of the data obtained. The authors pay special attention to the development prospects of the created complex and the possibilities of data integration, including the implemented earlier synchronization of information with the profiles of teachers on the university website.
Keywords: citation indexes, scientometrics, scientometric indicators, databases, information systems, program modules, API.

Scientific Co-Authorship in Russian Mathematics in 2000–2020: A Study Based on the Example of Famous Russian Journals

Ekaterina Aleksandrovna Znamenskaya, Andrey Anatolievich Pechnikov, Dmitry Evgen'evich Chebukov
22-40
Abstract:

Scientific co-authorship is a direct reflection of scientific collaboration. There is empirical evidence of the value of co-authorship, for example, articles with a large number of authors tend to be cited more often, which is important for calculating various indexes. Many foreign studies show an increase in co-authorship both in general and in various scientific disciplines, however, it is quite difficult to judge the situation with co-authorship of Russian scientists based on research according to Web of Science or Scopus for a number of reasons. According to the portal Math-Net.Ru some issues of co-authorship in the field of mathematical and computer sciences in Russia are investigated. In particular, it shows a small but steady increase in the average number of co-authors per publication and an increase in the number of articles co-authored over the years 2000-2020.

Keywords: co-authorship, Math-Net.Ru, thematic community, graph of co-authorship.

Using the Co-Authority Graph for the Thematic Search of Conferences on Scientometric Data

Alexander Sergeevich Kozitsyn, Sergey Alexandrovich Afonin, Dmitry Alekseevich Shachnev
600-615
Abstract:

Thematic information search is used in various fields of activity. The use of thematic analysis tools to search for conferences allows you to increase the completeness of the search and coverage of conferences, helps to expand the circle of scientific communication of young scientists and the formation of closer scientific connections. The search algorithms developed by the authors use the co-authorship graph and the reference set of authors. The set can be obtained using methods of thematic search of experts or based on given samples. The developed algorithms are language insensitive and take into account the authority of conferences in the scientific community. Approbation was carried out on the data of the scientometric system IAS ISTINA.

Keywords: thematic search, bibliographic data, conference search, co-authorship graph, information systems, scientometrics.
