Development of a software package for generating questions for specified subjects using a semantic network

Abstract: An approach to automatically generating questions for tests or quizzes using the DBPedia knowledge graph is presented here. The selected knowledge graph has about 5 million entities. DBpedia SPARQL endpoint the ability to make queries to the semantic network using the SPARQL language. The algorithm, the basic queries to the knowledge graph for constructing questions, a non-standard approach to the search for entities are presented in this article.

Extraction Of Wikidata Knowledge For The Metadata Formation For Documents of Digital Mathematical Collections

Abstract:

Methods for creating digital mathematical collections that include unstructured sets of documents are presented. These sets contain materials from scientific conferences, as well as articles from the archives of mathematical journals of the "pre-digital" period.


Using the software tools of the metadata factory of the digital mathematical library Lobachevskii DML, a mandatory set of metadata for digital collection documents was formed. To refine and replenish the metadata sets, knowledge extraction methods from Wikidata were used.


To search Wikidata for information about digital collection documents and their authors, a system of SPARQL queries has been developed. A set of Wikidata entities is defined, which determine the features of the search, as well as the subsequent filtering of the results.


Methods for clarifying and supplementing the bibliographic references given in the articles are proposed. When forming the metadata of documents of retrocollections, a search was made in Wikidata for information about the years of life of the authors of articles, as well as URLs of web pages with information about articles and their authors. The results of the formation of several new digital collections of the Lobachevskii-DML digital library are presented.

Leveraging Semantic Markups for Incorporating External Resources Data to the Content of a Web Page

Abstract: The semantic markups of the World Wide Web have accumulated a large amount of data and their number continues to grow. However, the potential of these data is, in our opinion, not fully utilized. The semantic markups contents are widely used by search systems, partly by social networks, but the usual approach to using that data by application developers is based on converting data to RDF standard and executing SPARQL queries, which requires good knowledge of this language and programming skills. In this paper, we propose to leverage the semantic markups available on the Web to automatically incorporate their contents to the content of other web pages. We also present a software tool for implementing such incorporation that does not require a web page developer to have knowledge of any programming languages ​​other than HTML and CSS. The developed tool does not require installation, the work is performed by JavaScript plugins. Currently, the tool supports semantic data contained in the popular types of semantic markups “microdata” and JSON-LD, in the tags of HTML documents and the properties of Word and PDF documents.

Engineering and Automatic Construction of a Knowledge Graph “Mathematical Equations”

Abstract:

We propose an approach to engineering and implementing a knowledge graph for representing and storing knowledge about mathematical equations. We have developed a knowledge graph prototype that represents knowledge about the main types of mathematical equations, including algebraic equations, ordinary differential equations, partial differential equations, and integral equations. We designed the knowledge graph of mathematical equations as a mathematical artifact. We are integrating this artifact into the digital ecosystem of the Lobachevskii Digital Mathematical Library, therefore, we took into account the ecosystem's general compatibility requirements during the design. We have developed software tools for extracting and processing information about equations presented in digital libraries and electronic scientific resources. The current version of the knowledge graph prototype is based on the OntoMathPRO ontology of professional mathematics and a taxonomy of equations, built on information extracted from the web pages of the portal EqWorld "The World of Mathematical Equations." We expanded the OntoMathPRO ontology with new equation classes and new relationships to align with the equation type hierarchy presented on the EqWorld portal. We implemented a set of software modules that support the full cycle of knowledge graph generation, including a module for automatically extracting entities from external sources, a module for linking entities to OntoMathPRO ontology concepts, and a module for converting the acquired knowledge into an RDF representation and then storing it in a data warehouse. The knowledge graph supports SPARQL queries.

Automatic and Semi-Automatic Methods for Domain Knowledge-Graph Construction and Ontology Expansion

Abstract:

We present a combined pipeline for knowledge-graph construction and ontology expansion. The approach builds a BIO-tagged corpus via fully automatic LLM-based pseudo-annotation and introduces dedicated UNK reserve categories to capture previously unseen classes and relations. A specialized NER/RE model is trained on a 3-million-token dataset with 92 labels. The model exhibits a conservative quality profile – high precision with moderate recall – suited for safe graph enrichment: integrating the extracted facts expands the graph to ~0.98 million triples, while the expansion ratio (total inferred facts to explicit triples) increases from 2.65 to 3.52, with logical consistency preserved. UNK label pools are converted into stable synsets, enabling semiautomatic ontology expansion; 12 new classes derived from unstructured texts were added. We also demonstrate practical value for querying and analytics using an LLM + SPARQL setup.

Publishing the Data on Protected Sites in Linked Open Data Space

Abstract: This article presents the framework that incorporates two modern trends in data publishing: Linked Open Data technologies and spatial data publishing technologies. The framework includes components for semantic data publishing from relational data sources, data integration and link generation. The SPARQL query answering algorithm that utilizes generated linksets is introduced. This article also presents the Protected Sites ontology for Linked Open Data Space, which follows INSPIRE recommendations and involves common RDF vocabularies.
